Is thyroid cancer dangerous?

The common types of thyroid cancer, also known as well-differentiated thyroid cancer have a very good long term outlook after treatment. In general over 90% of patients with this type of cancer will be free of cancer at ten years plus after diagnosis. Some rare types of thyroid cancer including medullary and anaplastic are more aggressive.
